![]() ![]() I can only speak English fluently and my native Mandarin Chinese semi-brokenly. I can understand Mandarin just fine but don't understand a word of Cantonese. Many of John Woo's old movies were made only in Cantonese. (Thirst is a fun little vampire flick, but LTROI is an absolutely fantastic vampire movie which everyone must see.) I still sometimes watch old Hong Kong action movies with the original Cantonese language tracks since they didn't really dub those into Mandarin much. I've watched some Korean horror movies in the original Korean with subtitles, notably "Thirst". ![]() I watched "Let the Right One In" in it's original Swedish with subtitles. You ever see Amelie? That movie is pretty good in it's original French and it stars the girl who later appears alongside Tom Hanks in The DaVinci Code. You're kidding, right? You think that you need to learn a language to watch foreign media? Do you ever watch foreign films? Please tell me you don't watch foreign films dubbed. ![]()
